CruzPro UWSD10 ultrasonic wind sensor equipped with 4 ultrasonic sensors, configured on a three-dimensional matrix.

DescriptionThe

CruzPro UWSD10 provides wind and temperature data readings via NMEA 0183, using 4 ultrasonic sensors, configured on a three-dimensional matrix, to provide these data with high accuracy and free from errors resulting from boat heeling.

The project was born in collaboration with the sailing department of the University of Auckland, which has also made available its own wind tunnel, essential to achieve the highest standards of precision.

This sensor is then used to be connected to wind data reading units (such as the WSD-110) and then provide the wind speed with a resolution of 0.01 knots, the direction with a resolution of 1 degree and the air temperature with a resolution of 1 degree.

The CruzPro UWSD10 absorbs only 30mA, has a diameter of 140 mm, and a height of 260 mm including 150 mm of the mounting bracket. It comes complete with 30 m cable and two waterproof connectors.
