The OLAS system of Exposure has now become a reference for all those who do not underestimate the risks and consequences of falling into the sea of a person or a pet. OLAS is the system that with a simple bracelet or with a multi-purpose torch (the OLAS Float-On) allows you to have a ready alarm directly on your portable device or on dedicated systems that we will highlight in this article.
Today this MOB system is further expanded and becomes increasingly scalable, with the addition of the GUARDIAN consisting of a series of mechanisms that inhibit the boat's engine in the event of a man falling overboard.
GUARDIAN is useful to stay in the place where the accident occurred, save valuable time and concentrate immediately on detecting the unfortunate person on sight. If it is the captain who falls overboard and the rest of the crew is on deck, then the GUARDIAN could also make a difference to the survival of the man at sea and the safety of the crew.
The GUARDIAN is a simple switch that acts directly on the engine circuit when the OLAS system detects the presence of a man at sea. On the dashboard we will have to drill a hole of only 19 mm, to fix an elegant steel switch that will allow us to access the various functions, but also to be warned by an internal 85dB siren or by special LEDs.
Optionally, we can also install a siren or emergency light externally, or control other devices that we may want to turn off in case of MOB. The GUARDIAN can connect up to 15 receivers and offers a large number of settings to suit your personal preferences.
