Apple's newest iOS 8.3 version, released last week, has a bug that causes GPS position not to be received by some external GPS of any brand, including some Bad Elf units.
The problem affects external GPS with 30-pin Apple Dock connector and some Bluetooth units, which use a previous transmission protocol.
In the case of Bad Elf the affected units are the BE-GPS-1000 and BE-GPS-2200 (also called GPS Pro), while the BE-GPS-1008 and BE-GPS-2300 (also called GPS Pro+) seem to be exempt from the problem.
Unfortunately the problem can only be solved by Apple and we expect a fix or a new version that we hope will be available soon. Bad Elf is working closely with Apple to solve this problem as soon as possible.
What to do in the meantime:
- Avoid upgrading your Apple device to version 8.3.
- If the update has already been carried out, a downgrade to version 8.2 must be made.
