The new MR1002 and MR1004 amplifiers are part of the entry level range of the Boss Marine line of amplifiers and replace the previous MR202 and MR404.
They can operate up to 2 ohms in stable mode and operate in class A/B. Class "A/B" amplifiers are known to reproduce excellent sound quality and at the same time work with better energy efficiency than pure class "A" amplifiers. Boss has developed a specific linear circuit that further reduces distortion while increasing both audio quality and power.
The MR1002 and MR1004 "Boss Marines" are equipped with a gain control to precisely adjust the output on the speakers.
They have a thermal protection that temporarily switches off the amplifier if the temperature is too high. They are also equipped with short circuit protection, so if a speaker shorts, the protection circuit will inhibit the output until the problem is solved.
The MR1002 and MR1004 "Boss Marines" operate with both the high level (high current) and low level (low current for the pre-amp signal) input, so you can adapt any type of source.
