A few years ago, dashboard stereos opened a new era. In fact, this type of installation places the stereo in the fulcrum of our dashboard, making it more accessible and always ready to respond to the desires of the moment.

However, the turning point came only thanks to the entry of Boss Marine in this market, which led to new solutions able to increase the reliability and audio power of this type of stereo. In fact, a dashboard stereo, due to its small size, must be professionally designed to dissipate heat. The Boss Marine MGV550B is not only a dashboard stereo, but a true multimedia center, from which we can not only scan our songs, but also view related movies or any other video we want to launch from our smartphone.

The 5" touchscreen display, for such a minute device is really generous and makes it very easy for us to set the various features and settings. However, there are also some buttons, well sized and a knob, to proceed to our settings in a more precise and immediate way.

The audio quality is the usual one that Boss Marine has always accustomed us to, with a power of 60 W for 4 channels and 3 PRE-AMP outputs that show its predisposition to work even with a separate amplifier and, drawing from Boss Marine components, it will be possible to compose a complete on-board system, able to surprise even the most pretentious.

The MGV550B is optimized to work with our smartphone via Bluetooth with a particularly easy and immediate connection. However, thanks to the numerous ports available, we can connect it with a very wide range of devices. In fact we have an A/V input, 2 video, an SD card slot, a USB input and an AUX input. However, please note that the USB and AUX connectors are present on the back of the stereo, so if you want to use them, they must be reported on the dashboard via the separate accessory MUSB35.

Very useful is the possibility to connect a camera, for example to monitor the engine room, or to have an extra view when manoeuvring.
