GME MT606FG Automatic EPIRB with AIS.

MT606FG GME

The MT606FG is a new generation automatic EPIRB, integrated with AIS, for enhanced visibility; of the shipwreck's position.

Description

TheMT606FG is GME 's new self-triggering EPIRB (Category 1) that integrates an AIS transmitter to be able to send the location of the distress message, not only via satellite through COSPAS-SARSAT constellations, but also through the AIS frequency.

In practice through AIS the position of the shipwrecked person will not only be visible at the rescue coordination center, but will also be visible to all ships (obliged to be equipped withAIS) and to all vessels that have installed at least one AIS receiver.

The positioning system used is of the GNSS type and exploits both the satellites of the European Galileo system and the GPS system. For reporting the distress message to the COSPAS-SARSAT also uses the new MEOSAR satellite constellation, which allows the position of the shipwrecked vessel to be detected even before theEPIRB signal reaches the coordination center.

Of course, in the MT606FG there is no lack of all those prerogatives that have always distinguished GME EPIRBs, such as high-intensity strobing, self-heating of electronic components ("Zero warm-up"), and a simple and immediate self-test procedure that allows the correct operation to be verified in a matter of seconds.

TheMT606FG complies with the new IMO MSC471 resolution.
