Kestrel introduces the new 5 series, which is at the top of the range. The 5 Series follows the 4 Series by number of weather readings and offers more than just new solutions for connecting to PCs or MACs. Moreover, for models with LiNK (internal Bluetooth module) it is possible to connect to smartphones or tablets that can display on a special app, very professional, all the weather data collected.
All 5-series models can be connected to a PC or MAC via the optional USB direct cable. For models with LiNK you can use the LiNK Bluetooth Dongle to connect to a USB port or via USB direct cable, both optional. The software for working with Windows operating systems is already available today, while for the MAC version it will be necessary to wait until March 2016.
In addition, the Kestrel 5 series, compared to the 4 series, has a larger and more defined screen, so you can show more data at once and also to make it easier to use. The backlight is now available in two colours, one standard for better screen visibility, the other in Night Vision red to avoid being dazzled when reading at night.
The Android App for LiNK models will only be available in March 2016, while the iOS App is already available for free download today. The App is really easy to use and has a lot of screens so you can view the data in the way that best suits your reading needs. In addition, with the App we can query multiple Kestrel 5 within a maximum radius of 30 meters, so that we can take readings at different points. The App for Apple devices is compatible with iOS 6 and IPhone 4S, iPad 3 or iPod 5 or later versions/generations.
Like all Kestrel units, the 5 series units are floating, waterproof (IPx7), the fan is with sapphire carriers, are supplied with a certified calibration and are guaranteed for 5 years.
On this occasion, prices in the previous 4 series were reduced by around 15%. While the 5 series is available from tomorrow in our warehouses with the model 5000, 5500 and accessories.
