Scout 5G onBoard Compact Internet System

Description

The 5G onBoard Compact system allows us to have the wide bandwidth of 5G technology available on our boat.

The system consists of an antenna and the SIM Extender, a control box with a data SIM slot, interfaced with each other via a power ethernet cable that provides power to the control box itself. The antenna, on the other hand, is powered by a dedicated 12v DC on-board line.

The dome has 4 high-gain 5G modules inside, which should allow us to stay connected up to 20 miles from the coast and automatically switch to the 4G network if the 5G signal is not present or reachable. The antenna is easy to install as it is equipped with a power cable and already wired with Ethernet cables headed with RJ45 connectors, so the installer does not need to open the dome but will only need to connect the appropriate cable to the on-board line and the power ethernet to the SIM Extender control unit.

The control unit is specially designed to be installed inside the boat, to avoid moisture or water infiltration, and to allow all SIM removal and insertion operations to be carried out without having to access the antenna, which is often located in places that are difficult to access.

The 5G onBoard system can be remotely controlled from your smartphone via a free app available for iOS and Android operating systems.
