Latitude

Latitude indicates the geographical distance from the equator (North or South) expressed in degrees.

Every position on the earth's surface is localized through the measurements of latitude and longitude, also called geographical coordinates.

The latitude can be North or South, when it is on the equator it is 0 degrees, when it is at the end of the two poles it is 90°.

Normally latitude is expressed in degrees/minutes/seconds, and nautical GPS often display tenths of a second.

Italy is between 47°05'29'' and 35°29'24'' north latitude.
