Description

The QUICK 3 antenna is the stainless steel model in Scout's new line, and is designed for masthead installation.

It differs from previous models in that it features Quick Fit technology, which consists of a number of structural arrangements that allow the user to be able to install and remove the antenna easily and independently without the use of any tools.
Usually the antennas have a coaxial cable coming out of the base of the antennas, and the end of that cable is not headed, so in order to connect the antenna to the VHF you have to solder the coaxial cable to a connector (usually the PL259).

In the QUICK 3, on the other hand, the cable and antenna are two separate components, which are connected together by screwing the connector on the pre-terminated coaxial cable with the one built into the base of the antenna.
To physically attach the antenna to the base, an adaptor 1 "x14 double female threads is supplied that is screwed onto both parts in question.
While to connect the antenna to the VHF, it is necessary to insert the male FME/ male PL 259 adapter (also provided) to the connector on the other end of the cable.

This feature can come in handy when the boat is being winged, as the antenna may be damaged in the operations of moving the boat. To avoid this, simply unscrew it from the base and store it in a safe place.
