QUICK 1 is the fiberglass VHF antenna in Scout's new line.
It differs from previous models in that it features Quick Fit technology, which makes this antenna easy to install and remove thanks to innovative structural features.

Compared to previous models, the cable and antenna are two separate components, which are connected together by screwing the connector on the pre-tested coaxial cable with the one built into the base of the antenna.A tapered female ferrule of 1 "x14 threads allows the antenna to be tightened to the base.To connect it to the VHF, one must insert the male FME/ PL 259 male adapter present among the equipment, to the connector present at the opposite end of the cable

.This implies that one can connect the antenna to the VHF without the use of any tools, unlike what has always been done previously.
Usually the coaxial cable is already die-cast at the base of the antennas and their end is not headed, so you have to solder the cable to a connector (usually the PL259), in order to connect it to the VHF. Therefore, the Quick Fit technology allows installation and removal without the need for soldering or special technical skills.

This can certainly come in handy when the boat needs to be winged or transported on a trolley, an operation in which it could suffer blows and consequent damage.
In order to remove it, simply unscrew the ferrule from the knuckle base, and the coaxial cable connector from the antenna base, after which it can be stored in a safe place.
