Ms, Meters per Second, is a measure often used to indicate wind speed, and means how many meters the wind can travel in a second.

One meter per second is approximately the same as:

Some, simplifying a lot and only with the intention of achieving a very rough result:

  • Multiply x 2 meters per second, to get the knots (kn)
  • Multiply x 4 meters per second to get the kilometers per hour
  • Even more roughly divide by 2 meters per second to get the beaufort
